Victorian Interpreting & Translating Service (VITS) LanguageLoop

VITS LanguageLoop (VITS) is a Victorian Government-owned language services provider and a state business corporation under State Owned Enterprises Act 1992 (Vic). The Minister for Multicultural Affairs and the Treasurer have joint responsibility for VITS as a government-owned entity.

VITS provides professional interpreting and translating services to government, commercial, and not-for-profit clients in over 190 languages and is governed by a Board of up to nine (9) Directors, including a Board Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson, responsible to the Minister for Multicultural Affairs. Led by the Board Chair, core to its mission is to facilitate communication to support equitable participation and access for people with limited English proficiency for all aspects of a diverse Australian society.

As Current Chair, Professor Kathy Laster, will complete her final term, the Minister for Multicultural Affairs is seeking to appoint an outstanding leader to continue the important work of the VITS LangaugeLoop Board Chair in governing the organisation.

Importantly, the Board drives the strategic direction and financial sustainability of the service to promote an Australian society where intersecting forms of diversity are valued, and language is no barrier to full and equal participation for all.

To be considered, you must show alignment to the Key Selection Criteria in the Information Pack in your CV experience and achievements and submit your completed Application Form.

The Application Form is used in place of a cover letter, you do not need to submit a separate cover letter. Your documents must be submitted in Microsoft WORD format.

Your application will be carefully assessed as per the criteria in the information pack, your CV is the main document for this assessment.
