About the organisation
The Self-Determination Fund (SDF) is a newly established and transformative initiative within the Treaty Process for First Peoples in Victoria. Administered by the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, the Fund is dedicated to empowering Victorian Traditional Owners by fostering long-term prosperity and self-determination. With a focus on supporting equal participation in Treaty negotiations, creating independent wealth and economic opportunities, and securing sustainable future investments, the SDF is designed to be an active and strategic fund manager. By prioritising the needs and aspirations of First Peoples, the Fund aims to drive meaningful and lasting impact for current and future generations.
About the role
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide strategic and operational leadership, shaping the culture and direction of the SDF. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will drive the Fund’s long-term vision, ensuring it delivers meaningful and sustainable economic outcomes for First Peoples in Victoria. Responsible for day-to-day management, the CEO will navigate growth and change while fostering innovation and responsiveness to community needs. A key focus of the role will be building strong stakeholder relationships, enhancing collaboration, and positioning the SDF as a trusted leader in self-determination and economic empowerment.
