About the organisation
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency responsible for implementing the world leading National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), one of the biggest social reforms since Medicare. The NDIS is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and provide peace of mind for every Australian. The Children Group is responsible for building Agency and sector capability to deliver outcomes for children with disability and those with substantial developmental delay in the NDIS.
About the role
The new Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) Children is a pivotal role leading policy, engagement and strategy development in a dedicated part of the agency focused on how best to address children’s needs. This new group will co-design a system of best practice early childhood supports that intersect with non-scheme supports that align the Agency’s existing early childhood approach with the Government’s Early Years Strategy. As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, the DCEO Children contributes to decision making across the organisation to ensure a culture of high performance, delivery and innovation within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

You are a trusted and respected visionary leader, known for your energy, commitment, and respect for diverse views. You excel in delivering transformation and results in complex policy settings. With a proven background in executive roles within the public sector or aligned contexts, you bring strategic insight and hands-on expertise to advance the NDIA's mission. Your deep knowledge of service delivery and complex, government-funded programs pairs with your proven skills in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and resource management. An effective and emotionally intelligent communicator, you build collaborative relationships and navigate challenges effectively. Driven by a passion for improving disability services, your leadership stands out for its integrity, resilience, and dedication in alignment with the NDIA’s values. You remain committed to driving social change, empowering people with disabilities to have choice and control over their lives.
