About the role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive General Manager, People and Safety (EGMPS) provides strategic leadership and direction across workplace relations (WR), industrial relations (IR), health and safety and environmental management (HSE), and generalist human resources (HR) expertise. Leading a team of HR and HSE professionals, the role is responsible for developing and maintaining robust and fit-for-purpose HSE and HR systems and processes, with a key focus on driving continuous improvement. A key member of the executive leadership team, the EGMPS fosters a high-performance culture through the alignment of Jamestrong Packaging’s people and safety strategy, and broader business objectives.

An experienced people and safety executive, you bring deep expertise across this profession, ideally within a high-risk manufacturing environment. A values-driven leader, you combine strong business acumen with a commercial mindset, ensuring your people strategies drive both strategic and operational success. Your ability to navigate complex landscapes is underpinned by a proactive, solutions-focused approach. Adaptable and results-focused, you thrive in dynamic environments, quickly assessing challenges and implementing effective strategies. As a collaborative executive team member, you will excel in building strong relationships across multi-site operations, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on engagement.
