Ventura is Victoria’s largest bus operator and charter coach service, with over a century of proud history. Following four generations of family ownership, the business was recently acquired by Keppel Infrastructure Trust (KIT) a key global investor in energy transition assets. Having been a long-term leader in environmentally friendly fuels, Ventura’s commitment to sustainability and innovation has meant significant investments in zero-emission technologies, with the organisation now currently operating the largest fleet of Zero Emission Buses (ZEBs) in Victoria.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Fleet & Maintenance will lead Ventura’s fleet operations, ensuring optimal performance, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement across all workshops, fleet support and the Eastcoast Truck & Bus business. The appointee will develop and implement strategic fleet plans, manage budgets, and lead cost-saving initiatives while fostering key relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role involves mentoring and developing a large and experienced team while managing procurement, inventory, and operational processes to support Ventura’s long-term growth.
About you
You are a hands-on leader with extensive experience in managing a large-scale fleet and multi-site service facilities, preferably within the heavy vehicle, transport or a related industry. Your commercial acumen and track record of driving financial and operational success will stand out, alongside your ability to connect strategic planning with operational execution. With strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, you inspire and develop people performance with a focus on customer, accountability and teamwork. A tertiary qualification in Business, Management or a Technical discipline will be preferential.
