About the organisation
South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) is one of six PHNs in Victoria and thirty-one nationally. Its vision is to improve health outcomes for its 1.6 million residents across the southeast Melbourne community. SEMPHN reports to an independent Board and is primarily funded by the Australian Government and focuses on priority areas including mental health, alcohol and other drugs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, aged care, population health, workforce development, and digital health.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Director Corporate Services, the Director Finance and Risk has overall responsibility for the finance and risk portfolio to manage the financial viability and sustainability of the organisation. The role oversees cash flow management and investment strategies, risk analysis and mitigation, the annual budgeting process, monthly, annual and ad hoc financial analysis, management and statutory reporting, property management, acquittals and payroll while proactively managing risk and quality including ISO27001. The Director Finance and Risk leads a stable team of finance professionals, fostering a positive and inclusive culture and ensuring effective contribution to SEMPHN’s strategy ‘Path to Impact’.
About you
CA/CPA qualified, you are an experienced senior finance leader ideally from the health and human services sector. You are positive and collaborative with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Your strong technical background includes risk management, financial reporting and governance and you implement controls to ensure best practice. An engaging leader, you have a proven ability to provide supportive leadership to teams through positive change and a track record of instilling a continuous improvement mindset. You are hands-on, content to immerse yourself in the detail and can work cross functionally to support operational teams. Importantly, you have a positive attitude, high integrity and consultative style to engage with stakeholders at all levels to drive an improved healthcare system for the community.
